WORTHING 2 DEACONS 4

Saturday 27th October 2007
Worthing finally managed to get a team out so we were pleased to give them a sound thrashing. Actually it was a very close game. Deacons took advantage of Houlty's unavailability to ratchet up one of the highest scores of the season so far - he'll be back next week though.....oh well.

Sadly our discipline let us down with Norman and Bob being very naughty boys indeed (green card - should have been a red / yellow). They were lucky not to be sent to the naughty bench to wear the naughty hat, so naughty were they.

Team Cap'n Kev (cap'n), Jammo (vc), Ian, Chris, Roger, Norman, Clive, Coxy, Dave B, Andy, JC, Bob, Paul, Chris (umpire) Goals Kev, Clive 2, Bob.

YOU'VE BEEN A VERY NAUGHTY BOY - BOTH OF YOU

JUST A LOAD OF OLD BLOKES STANDING AROUND

WHO NICKED MY MOTORBIKE?

COXY WEIGHS UP THE ODDS OF COMPLETING A SUCCESSFUL PASS TO JC. JC HAS A REST WHILE COXY THINKS IT THROUGH

DEACONS 3 WORTHING 0 WALKOVER

Saturday 20th October 2007
Worthing couldn't get a side out so that means 3 more points to us! Yippeeeeeeeee!

Milts celbrated by being 3rd XI sub; Bob, Jammo and Adrian guested for other teams. But the really sensible Deacons (ie Cap'n Kev, Coxy, Houlty, Paul, Clive, Chris and Norman) went to watch the 1st XI and then went to the pub. Good to meet up with Nick Coppin and Bill Ahern (past Deacons).

DEACONS 2 SEVENOAKS 0

Saturday 13th October 2007
Well, we won, although it was a mightly close thing against the seven men of Sevenoaks who played terrifically well. If it hadn't been for some fantastic saves from Ian and some sturdy last ditch defending, Sevenoaks might have scored a few in the second half when we all got a bit confused. They would have deserved a goal or two. By the way, Friars hat trick man Dave W and Doreen umpired the game pretty well - thanks to you both

Team Cap'n Kev (cap'n), Jammo (vc), Ian, Chris, Roger, Adrian, Coxy, Dave B, Stuart, Andy, Milts, JC, Houlty, Bob, Paul. Goals JC, Houlty (p).

LEADING FROM THE FRONT CAP'N KEV IGNORES THE BALL AND GOES FOR ALL OUT ATTACK. No 36 LOOKS RIGHTLY SCARED

THE KEY MOMENT OF THE GAME AS BOB IS SUBSTITUTED - BOY DID WE MISS HIM

AFTER THAT IT WAS DEFEND AND WHACK THE BALL AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE - WHICH WAS GENERALLY NOT VERY FAR AT ALL

IAN DISCOVERS THE TECH COLLEGE IS A BAD PLACE TO FIND A TAXI ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON

THE DEACONS BENCH WAS PACKED WITH HIGH MILEAGE - I MEAN HIGH IMPACT - PLAYERS

WELL PLAYED SEVENOAKS - YOU DESERVED BETTER
